Can I buy a shoot as a gift?

Yes! A shoot makes a wonderful present and many of our customers have done just this. Katie can send out a personalised gift certificate in a box that you can give on the day (this can be emailed if you are buying the gift last minute) and then your recipient has 6 months to book in their shoot. The basic package all inclusive package is ideal - but extras, such as more prints, some canvases or a photo book can be added on.

What areas do you cover?

We cover a 25 mile radius of Todmorden, West Yorkshire within the cost of our packages. If you live outside of this area we can certainly still do your shoot for you, please contact us to find out our reasonable mileage charges.

Katie does occasionally tie shoots together in different areas of the country to keep charges for customers down - contact her for more details. Katie is often in the Cheshire and North Wales border region - contact her for dates available.

How do I book a shoot?

Please contact Katie on 07977110362 or katie@equineshoot.com. A £150 deposit will be required to secure your shoot date. The rest of the shoot will need to be paid for on the day of the shoot itself. If a shoot is cancelled with less than two weeks notice your deposit will be forfeit, if a shoot is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice the remaining balance for the cost of the shoot will need to be paid.

What preparations do I need to make?

Katie will talk you through most of this in your pre-shoot chat, but generally please ensure that you and your animals are clean and any items to be in the shoot (tack, dog collars etc..) need to be clean and tidy. Bring some cloths with you in case anyone gets slobbered on and needs a wipe down! If  it's a dog shoot please bring along their favourite toy and some treats. If you are having a horse photo shoot it is very helpful to have a friend or family member along with you on the shoot to act as an assistant and help get ears forward.

What shall I wear?

This is entirely up to you and the images you want to create. People wear everything from their casuals, to full show attire, to dresses on shoots. Do bring a change a clothes in case you get dirty. You will have time on your shoot to change your outfit, so please bring a couple of changes of clothes - why not try some casuals and a dress.

What happens in the event of bad weather?

The shoots can go ahead in most conditions, but not if it is raining heavily. Katie will make a decision on the weather conditions before she sets off for your shoot and if she thinks it cannot go ahead she will call you to let you know and to arrange another date. There is no charge for a rearranged shoot due to bad weather.

Where do your viewings take place?

The viewing sessions are great fun and a key part of the whole experience. These take place in Todmorden. If you live further afield and cannot visit Todmorden alternative arrangements for viewing your photos can be made.

What product options do you have?

All of the shoot packages now come with your images on a USB and a coffee table style photo album as standard. There are also a wide variety of beautiful fine art print options for your images - these will be shown to you at your viewing, but to give you an idea of some of the options: wrapped around the frame canvases, professionally framed photographic prints, enlarged photographic prints, photo books, stunning modern acrylic and aluminium panels, desktop products and cute mini- canvases. A price-list for extras is available on request.

What if I have more than one horse/dog?

Up to 2 horses can be photographed within a 2 hour shoot, if you have more horses then these can be added in please contact Katie in advance to discuss options and extra costs. If you have a dog that you want to include on an equine shoot - please let Katie know when booking and this can sometimes be done at no extra charge. If you are having a dog photo shoot then up to 3 dogs can be photographed within a 2 hour shoot.

Can my friend take part on her horse?

A discount on the packages can sometimes be offered for more than one shoot on the same yard on the same day - contact Katie for more details. But shoots are personal to the individual and cannot normally be shared - you will have one shoot each. It may be possible to get a few shots of you together if you wish.
